![]() Immature and pathetic, it is 21st century out there. They think if they make "such depth" with what one should do to achieve the best result it will acuually make a game better. This seems to be the case with both Japanese self-entitled RPG developers and those copycats worldwide. It looks like Stranger of Sword City had more story then Etrian Odyssey, but i haven´t played it yet, i only saw a lot of videos. If you played it because of the challenging turn based fights then you will like Stranger of Sword City.Ī real good story or a lot of "text" do dive into a lore or universe had neither of them. If you all in for map drawing and hunting items with guides: stay with etrian odyssey. It was godly at first, but you will miss a lot of items if you don´t have a guide that tells you which monster you have to kill which way to get the ingredients.Īnd i really hate playing with guides, so this was a real negative point for me. ![]() Originally posted by sdshadow:I played Etrian Odyssey a lot, the only things that has bother me was the annoying map drawing and the item system. ![]() I'm looking forward to this game over, say, Etrian V, because I can make a more unique party without having to worry about a "Proper setup". I love to play a game with a full group of 6, but every game at the last 10 years was to easy to have fun with it. I hope this game here is as hard as the tests and posts mentioned. I skipped the fourth, because i get headache with 3D and i don´t wanted to buy a console that only have the 3D effect as a sales reason. PS: i played the first etrian only with one char (was too easy with a full group), the second and the third with two chars (was to tedious to kill enemies with the lot more health only with one char, not because it was more difficult). I hope of many block walls that let me feel week, after a few level ups it is really a good feeling if i beat a monster/boss that i can´t before. I hate games at which your own decisions don´t matter because they are really easy to play. Originally posted by sdshadow:Thx Shineek.įor me it is positive that you can screw your chars if you don´t think about what you build them. If its more than im gonna stick to Persona Q and wait for Etrian 5. With everything that bothered me with the 40 hours in Demon Gaze and 10 in Stranger of Sword City on PS Vita i can only say the game is only wort 20 euro not more. At least all that to me makes this game big question mark, and im already set on buying it only if its not over 20 euro. In Demon Gaze and Stranger of Sword City the healer is a requirement, its lamost impossible to progress with the game without one. Also one mega big problem i did not like with Demon Gaze was the requirement of a Healer class, in Etrian it would be hard but not impossible to play wihtout a medic, in fact i played with the princess healing passively and sometimes actively and had better HP recovery this way than with a medic. And by that i mean a warrior can turn himself totally useles and a mage become so tanky he can get into front row. This game does not ecnourage you to fight or grind, i dont remember how the leveling up was, but if its similar to Demon Gaze and i think it will be as its the same makers and a similar game setting with same races, the leveling up will be alos a little messed up. Stranger of Sword City does not really have this, you basically just go straight until you hit a block when mosnters are too strong and you would need to grind a little. ![]() Its same boring stuff as Demon Gaze, Etrian made you want to hunt the monsters, to grind and level up on them, collecting items was useful and you always could collect the special drops to get even better items. ![]()
